Hugh has over 30 years of corporate and personal insolvency experience as
a liquidator, receiver and voluntary administrator.
Hugh's extensive experience covers a wide range of industry types from
small family businesses, companies and sole traders to larger organisations
such as airlines, printing businesses, farming operations and the mining industry.
He offers a comprehensive and varied range of solutions to assist in the refinancing
or restructuring of distressed corporations. Also, experience in
formal insolvency arrangements means he can offer solutions and advice to company
directors, creditors and those contemplating bankruptcy.
His experience as a Trustee, pursuant to the Bankruptcy Act, includes Part
X or Personal Insolvency Agreements and Section 73 Arrangements. Hugh
has also been appointed Trustee as a result of a Court Order in respect to
property and partnership disputes.
A graduate of University of Sydney, in addition to being a registered liquidator
Hugh is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
He is a past President of Insolvency Practitioner Association, NSW Division,
and a founding member of the Turnaround Management Association.
Hugh joined the founding firm of Walker Mears & Co in May 1975 becoming a
registered trustee in January 1982, a registered liquidator in December 1982
and an official liquidator in 1986.
